Libertarian fastidiousness about any initiation of force as well as our uncompromising advocacy of a strictly non-interventionist foreign policy are often misinterpreted as pacifism. Not so. The celebration of St. Patrick’s Day here in the US occasions a brief recapitulation of the history of British occupation of its nearest neighbor, a description of life under repressive British rule, and a rousing defense of the right of the Irish people to resist foreign occupation and eject occupying troops by force of arms.
