One of the two most surprising — and heartening – developments in recent years has been the ignominious defeat of the “gun control” movement effort to disarm ordinary citizens on the assumption that this would somehow make the world a safer place. This commentary was recorded and aired — at the beginning of the nationwide movement to adopt what came to be called “Shall Issue” laws that put the burden of proof (back where it belongs) on government to show why a concealed carry permit should not be issued instead of the applicant to show why it should. Although now two decades old, Michigan having since joined the list of “Shall Issue” states, the truths herein are, nevertheless, eternal and ought never be forgotten.
