Small Government Alliance, unswervingly libertarian in outlook and mission, nevertheless, enthusiastically encourages everyone of every political stripe to participate in our forums. In the exchange of political ideas the most reassuring aspect for us (and certainly the most entertaining) is our unique ability to indiscriminately and simultaneously both inspire and incense people from one wingtip to the other on the old left/right political spectrum in our uncompromising quest to strangle the bird. We are unrivaled in our capacity to provoke a “How can you be so astute about X and so obtuse about Y?” reaction.
The exquisite irony here is that it is in fact our positions that are relentlessly consistent — founded as they are on the premise that peaceful, honest people are entitled to pursue happiness however they think best, circumscribed only by the requirement that they afford the same respect to everyone else.
This “Individual Rights” political philosophy is as simple and profound in its conception as it is sweeping and controversial in its application. So whatever your philosophical persuasion, we invite your comments on our projects (To Do List), our news blog (The Soapbox), and our opinion pieces (FWIW.)
One, small proviso. Being as averse as other Cyberians to flamers, spammers and partner-seeking, Nigerian bankers, we do require that all participants provide a screen name (alias, if you prefer) and e-mail address. If you are not yet registered, you can do so by using the resgistration tool immediately under TJ’s picture to the right. Then, simply respect the traditional, netiquette Rules of Decorum and show the world the real meaning of “free speech.”
We especially invite you to forward links and/or materials you find here (for non-commercial use) to anyone else you think might be interested. Our devotion is to the cause of restoring our constitutionally-limited republic, not enforcing copyrights or earning royalties. So, please feel free to share. We ask only that you credit SGA as the source.
Finally, your expression of support through a generous contribution of $10 or more (the 2¢ thing was just a figure of speech — the bank fees alone are more than that) will allow us to keep it all going. Much as we would have it otherwise, campaign finance laws do require us to first secure the following information with respect to your donation:
